I have over 50 years with oxy acetylene cutting and have heard from others it does a better job on heavier steel although I have not tried it. Plus when I was on site you could always drag the hoses...

I have never used my machine for anything other than 1/16" ! The book says it will cut 16mm which is 5/8 but I'd use oxy acetylene for anything bigger than 1/4

Very similar looking torch and that's the guy I ordered from, I got my plasma from Tokentools in NSW. They should be here around Monday so I'll soon find out.
