It is good to hear that he didn't have to torch the TC, but the pump going out? Well, maybe from the shock of the engine locking up? Doesn't seem likely, but I don't know.

I checked my CTS Edge display system on my Duramax today. You can display oil pressure, but you can't set an alarm like you can for exhaust gas temperature. I'll have to call them and ask why not.

Or maybe plumb up a valve stem with a tire gauge tire gauge for a quick rough test. Maybe it's time to jump ahead to a compression test. Just guessing here.
