I rented a plate tamper and hauled in fill for the pad. Had planned on 4inch pad with a 6 inch thickened edge. I ended up working all weekend I had rented the plate tamper instead of hauling fill and tamping. I wanted to get the pad in. So the rebar went in and I got a 6-7 inch pad. I ordered 5.5m3. Just had enough excess to do the bonus pad in front of the door - very happy about that.

Bought the rebar from a local supplier. They had a 50 piece minimum. They were half the price of Co-op and 1/4 the price of Home Depot though, so even with lots of rebar in the pad and rebar left over, it ended up cheaper.

Hired a guy that had done work for one of Dad's buds to do the finishing.
