Guys, I wish some of those knives were better than "row run" knives, but my in-laws went for cheap, not quality. Before you fluff and buff them, note the different color of steel on the sharp edge vs the rest of it. These are only edge-hardened. Grind off too much and you are back to soft steel. Maybe only 1/2" to 5/8" of the sharp part is fully hardened and you can see the line on most. Over there, when they are worn, you just take them back to the smith and have him reshape, re-harden and temper for a buck.

Plenty more here if anyone gots to have 'em. I just fell in love with these hand-forged $3. truck spring knives about 40 years ago. I helped forge a couple once on a hot day, and it's a lot of work.
Pop thank you very much for the knife. They are pretty menacing when you have a large group of Rednecks wielding them.

My wife was pretty excited about it as we have needed a good corn knife for some time now.

I'm still winding down from the trip and all the flat tires. I've got a couple pics to upload.

The rest were from Pittsfield Illinois. Pretty neat.

I guess you folks weren't too worried about Zombies that night.

I once put a tent on an elevated platform (for the kids) like the one on the trailer. They got bored with it. I noticed they left the door open, so I went to close it. There were some leaves inside, and in the cardboard tent box. I dumped the leaves and out rolled a small possum. We both did a lap inside the tent until it found it's way out. It must have been asleep, as it was in the middle of the day.
