So here it is finished.. Instead of spending my time with the sand paper I got out the die grinder instead..

It's funny but I love to forge and heat treat blades, but hate to finish them..

Japanese swords I like because the polishing work is all done by hand.. Not bad for all hand worked if I say so myself..

Who needs a skinner knife? I hunt with a 1957 El Dorado. Drag them a little ways down the road and throw the rest in the trunk. Easy Peasy.

Looks great, and I'd have backed out on polishing it if I couldn't take it to 400 grit on the belt grinder first

That short ring style knife has gained a little bit of a following and there are actually some being mass produced. Its part of the "neck knife" craze. I like the concept, but don't care for things around my neck, and prefer a knife I can get at least 3 fingers on, so I've taken to carrying a small fixed on my belt most of the time.

I like the way you use your car.. It's part transport, carry all, gun, mack truck and fridgerator..

If I had a belt grinder I would have done it that way once things fell apart in the trailer..

The idea was to file and finish it only with hand tools in the trailer for a new video.. It was finished 99% by hand but I couldn't find the tub with all the sand paper in it..

Great minds think alike.. It's designed for 3 fingers..
