Default Good day at the auction

I have a camper I just got a few months ago and it only has 1 spare. I always feel better with at least two spares. The tires are ST205/74/14. At the auction last Sunday I got 4 new with stickers and 1 used mounted on 5 hole wheels Goodyear, 65 PSI, that match my trailer hubs. Total cost was $60.

Count yourself lucky.....deals like that don't come often. That could qualify you for a 'you suck' award.

Just hope not Chinaman tires. Be a heck of a note to use all four on the same trip.

I know a guy that runs them on his dump truck. I'd wager there are good and bad brands from any country, including this one.

I'd try any of the Chinese tires before I put another Firestone/Bridgestone POS on any vehicle I own.

Run light truck china tires if you don't care about bodywork.

Run heavy truck china tires if you don't want an open casket.

They have run Double coin tires on the wife's fleet and the QC varies WILDLY!

Only tires that have ever cost me bodywork were Firestones. Three tires out of four failed, and not from age, miles, or road hazards, neither; all were separations. To their credit, after six months of paperwork, Firestone did pay for it ($2k). Won't get that from a lot of overseas sources or their distributors.

I take that back. I also had a BF Goodrich separate and take out the interior and bottom of my dually fender. In lieu of them repairing the damage, I accepted a new tire. I had that choice with the Firestones, too, and told them there was no way in hell more Firestones were ever going on another vehicle. I bought four new tires (Michellins, now Goodyears) for the van and started the paperwork for the claim.

Good and bad brands in every country. Caveat emptor, and the cheaper the more wary...

They are Goodyear HMG 2020 8 ply rated tires made in Canada. Rated at 62 mph. They will be driven faster than that so we will see how they hold up. They say property of Uhaul. Yikes!!!
