Default B&D drill motor LDX120

I know I should not have bought these things, but did non the less.

Simple and somewhat cheap, light in weight and from what I've seen by using them, I get lots of use between charges.

Last weekend I used one to drill starter holes for 3" #10 s/s screws for a work bench from hell I was building out of 5/4 ply, 4x6's for legs and 2x6 and 2x4's for framing etc.

One drill drilled and the other installed the screws, guestimated to be around 85 to 100. The one screwing ran out of juice at the last 2 or so screws to go. This bench was started without the drills having a fresh charge.

So, I was impressed to say the least.

My problem is that one of the drills has now begun to have a problem with the trigger switch for operation. Works at times, but sporadic.

I'm not having much luck finding anyone to supply the switch assy and am waiting for a reply from B&D directly in customer support.

I will say this, should there not be replacement parts such as this switch, I will say a hearty fuck you to B&D on this product.

Any ideas on finding Black and Decker parts?

What is the voltage and is there a C or PK or SB following the LDX120?

It's a 20 vlt and there are no letters after the 120. nada. I'm curious as well. It does show up on the B&D site in the owners manuals but that's it. Seems typical of something a few years old these days.

I tried the 'ereplacement parts' site with no luck. Most all folk I've found carry the replacement drill complete, or the charger, or the battery at the most. Even Sears.

I had good luck calling the B&D customer service number, I had a bearing go bad on a 2 year old sander. They sent me a new box of the three different attachments, for free, and a prepaid mailer for the broken part. (the round orbital disc)

I thought this was pretty reasonable for a just sold, big old company

I sent an email to customer service, but did jot down the number for CS and is the plan for the morning to make the call. Thanks Red

I stopped buying B&D after they were bought out by DeWalt. Now they are consumer junk, IMO.

Btw, Welcome Aboard Wheels!

MC, I've got two Dewalts as well and 3 batteries. One motor has worn brushes throwing sparks and all three batteries won't take a charge.

In the Dewalts defense, they have been used heavily over the 13 years I've owned them. Wouldn't even try to guess at the times charged or hours used. They did give good handy service.

I tried a pair of the aftermarket batteries, cheapies from China, but they would not work with my drills. They fit, but would not run.
