I bought another one and found the drive shaft was bent
It's so much cheaper to build one from scratch piece by piece.

I can get the parts including u-joint parts for less than 1/2 the price of a new assy.

The last 4 1/2' shaft I put together cost a whopping $120 in parts. Of course, keeping things centered and straight are a must as well as your welding skills should be spot on etc.

Walker there is a shaft assy and a 100 hp gear box for a shredder that never happened for sale on Craigs list here in Lake Chuck, $75 for the gear box and $50 for the shaft assy. Both showing age, but said unused. looks like they were kept in a barn or covered in the weather outside.

If I'd need a set I'd have bought them myself.
