Default My milling machine thread

Well I can let Gerry have his thread back. I picked up this Craftex/Grizzly 1.5hp 220v 9x30 knee mill from him.

On the 28th, I asked Gerry to keep an eye open for a milling machine that might be suitable for me. On the 30th I went and picked up the machine he replaced with his new Lagun. I guess the timing was right for both of us. I think the price was fair. There were lots of benefits to grabbing this one from him.
Not many used milling machines come up for sale in SK/Alberta.
Used machine from Ontario would cost a fortune to ship.
Most used machines in Ontario are 600v
Other used machines have unknown history and I wouldn't know what to look for if I went to inspect one anyway. Gerry seems pretty knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Got it unloaded from the truck last night and made some chips from an old engine head.

Glad to see it was not a stranger getting Gerry's mill. I am sure you will enjoy having it for years to come.

Very cool.
Didn't realize you picked it up from Gerry when you were showing me the pics.

I'm very jealous!

Are we going to have to send our diplomats to Vermont? And live on Mr Chicken? What about beer?

You will notice in picture one, right off the git go, that Kevin is using the correct cutting fluid...comes in a pop top can....

That particular fluid is quite popular on the prairies for some reason.
I posted a picture quite some time back that featured a can of it as well (weldor fuel I think I called it at the time).
