Default Slobbering Cummins

My 2004 Dodge 3500 Cummins 5.9 is losing oil via the PCV. To me the blow by with the engine running and the oil filler cap off looks normal to me. Took it to my mechanic last week to see if I had a oil pan of front cover or valve cover leaking. He says no, all the oil is coming out of the PCV which is bolted to the side of the block. He replaced the PCV and now a few days later it is dripping oil from the PCV again. Using about a quart per thousand miles. Engine runs smooth, no smoking and the valves were set a couple thousand miles back.

Not sure what do check or do to find the cause. Anyone here got any suggestions??????????

trade in time
If it is pushing oil it has a blow by issue either rings or valve guides since it seems to be starting and running fine suspect the valve guides and/or seals on the exhaust valves.

I suspected valve seals too.

Sounds like a synthetic oil issue to me. What are you using for oil?

BTDT with Amsoil, and went from using oil, back to using no oil when I went back to plain 15-40 oil. I run that summer and winter.

No synthetic oil. Just plain old 15-40 year round.

I stand corrected. It is a CCV system. The blow by at the oil fill cap can easily be felt as a puffing against your hand held about 2" above the hole. The oil fill cap rattles due to blow by when placed upside down on the valve cover hole.

Similar to this video.

Forgot to mention I do have a K&N air filter.

That was the first thing I ripped off my truck and replaced with a stock filter. The second thing was that stupid 9 inch exhaust stack coming out of the truck box.
