Default TD-6 known as Aggie

i started on saturday morning to fix the final drive on the td-6 known as Aggie. first he is up on 6x6 blocks and then we torch off the frame rail instead of removing the whole track frame. then on re-assembley i need a right side oil catcher so i copied the left side one. re-assembled and welded up the frame rail. did the test run with the test fuel tank as a seat and everything is good to go.

For those of us who know squat about cats, what does an oil catcher do?

the oil catcher gets the extra oil off the gears and sends in through the big hole to lube the bearings. of the 2 cats i stripped last week, both oil catchers were gone and so the final drivers blew up due to lack of oil getting to the right places.

these cats are 74 years old and very simple to work on plus you can make it work.

I'm just a little stunned that you didn't paint the oil catcher black.

Very creative repair. It fit's you to a tee.

I guess I missed the part where you acquired Aggie. Was this from your recent trip south?

the td-6 known as Aggie has been in my life but never owned for 18 years. this year he finally became mine.

yes ironman i have been busy with colour this summer for the drill program and the extra paint is being splashed around to be used up. of course the lids are off the cans so i grab it and spray ntill it looks good. not sure of the colour but it looks good.

the film crew arrived from the playboy channel and we did some filming with Aggie putting the boat in and out of the water. the pictures will not show how steap it was but the drone got a lot of good pictures.
