Default New Anvil purchased Peddinghaus 275lbs (ridgid)

Well Zoro sent me a 20% or 25% off coupon and they carry Peddinghaus anvils.. (Rigid) owns them now.. Lifetime warranty, face is supposed to be between 58Rc and 60Rc..

1997.00 - the 25%.. - 499.46... .. For the money it will be hard to beat..

He's a friend of mine so I'll help him.. . it will be the guys at the UPS wear house that will hate me..

I'm curious on how it will ship..

Also I got 30.00 back from Ebates.. so for 1500.00 and change it really is a hard deal to beat.. I was charged sale tax so if it was tax exempt it would be under 1500.00 easily..

Interesting that you should buy this now. Just a couple weeks ago I was reading something about the "new" Pedding Haus anvils that Ridgid is selling. According to what I saw Ridgid is already moving to reduce costs and increase profits--some people were saying that the new anvils are not made to the same standard as the originals. It's really sad when a venerable old brand like this is bought by a large corporation and then raped for the sole purpose of making more money.

I found one bit of info but I know there was more when I was browsing around--gotta see if I can dig it up...

Hi,
I have been using a "Peter Wright" 150# anvil for over 25 years!

Bought it from an old Swamp Rat at a Flea Market in Central Florida. ($125)

I don't blame you for getting the German Style Anvil, they are the better design I think!!!

Nice anvil there..

I have used a London pattern for 38 years.. When I was doing Hardware I always wanted a narrower section to work in vs the stock 4.5" So now i should be all set unless the face is to wide..

There was a scam on these anvils.. Someone was selling knock offs..

As long as the face is hard and durable and it's not to wide it will serve a really, really long time..

i had looked at buying one a few months back when I had gotten a 25% off but was cheaped out at that moment..

I said to myself." if that happens again.. I'll just buy it".. Even if I don't like it because of how wide the face is..
I would imagine I could get the 1600.00 for it or just stick it in the corner..

This makes Anvil #12
