A little research tells me that black oil is common in air cooled airplane engines.
They say it is due to ring blow by until the engine is up to temp.

Maybe the GM guys know their mfg tolerances well enough to have the book writers say it is OK?
They just live with the black oil instead of tighten up the tolerances?
Like I have said, there doesn’t seem to any performance issues.

The only problem with Rarus for the average dude, is that is comes in 5 gallon pails. Good oil though

needed some service after the work out it got sandblasting the Ford.

Been running this type/brand in mine for almost 20 years.. Synthetic really is the stuff for good compressors (with disk valves)

I pick it up in person though.. Last time they just poured me off enough to change out my sump. (Free)
