Default Rewinding motors

I have an old fan from the 30s-40s. I pulled it apart some years ago due to a cord failure. When reassembling the frame didn't want to go back into the housing so I tapped it in. When doing so I suspect I shorted the windings.

I would like to rewinding it, but have never done it. What do I need to order? How do I proceed?

Thanks,

You Tube has some good, step by step, videos.
Don't feel bad, I take mine in because I could never get it right.
