Default Forklift brakes and clutch

I finally got my Cat V40B fully functional. I pulled the hubs off, no small task, and put in new shoes and adjusted them. Then I had issues with the master. I swapped a new cylinder on and bled them. Finally have fully functioning brakes.

Then I decided to have a go at my clutch disk. It is a quick change, so didn't need to pull the motor. Had to pull an oil pump off the front of the gear box and pull out a snap ring. Then slide the input shaft forward. I got a little nervous because the gears and syncros start dropping down, but not off the shaft. I just cleared the pressure plate, but still couldn't get it out. Had to pull the shaft out a little more, then the throwout bearing, then the pressure plate, then the clutch disk. Then reverse the procedure. The gears and synchros climbed back up the input shaft just fine. Buttoned it all back up, checked the oil spray and cycled the clutch a few times. Now there are no issues with shifting gears, and I can start on an incline.

All told, a productive day.

Glad to see you had better luck than I did....
