So the service man calls today and says your truck is done and that it was the water pump, there was a obstruction in one of the ports, the mechanic came and got me as soon as he found it, and I know that you didn't think that it could be the pump so I took a picture of it. When I looked at the picture I said you've got to be kidding, someone just squeezed some silicone in there for the pic and he said no that it looks like part of a old gasket. What do you all think?

I would say theybshould entirely strip down the cooling system to confirm there are no more of those and see what they say.

Time for a new signature line!!

It looks like the dealer is trying to keep the lights on by billing 'warranty' work back to Dodge.

That dab of silicone looks too clean to have been obstructing coolant for a while. When was it changes last? Was it this way since new?

Must be an incredible ice cream making rainbow unicorn gasket that shits silicon from time to time.

But if they found and fixed the real problem, so what?
