Default Lathe maintenance

Hey yall, So I have 8 lathes in my school's metal shop that I have been charged with repairing and maintaining. I think I know the type three of them are, but the other five I have no clue. One has a motor that needs to be remounted. There is also several belts that need replaceing. I hope to add a few pictures soon. Do you guys have any advice.

Manuals might give you a better idea of what is needed. You'll need to know the makes and models. Someone here may have .pdfs they can send you or do an online search. There may be hidden oilers that need attention.

If there are V-belts, you can usually get a number off it or bring it to a hardware store to see if they can measure it and get a replacement for you. Don't throw a broken belt out until you have a replacement.

Pictures will help. Do a search here and I'm sure you'll find pertinent info... Good Luck and Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to SFT..lots of smart people here, you can probably get what you need.

You will need to give a bit more information so somebody can help. Pictures, names, models, stuff like that.

Good luck..
