Such as, "Not getting any better, come home." or "Not getting any, better come home."

Do you know which way he meant it originally?

I'm not saying how I meant it. I decided that I had to try it out, at least make 1 bale. So I set out to get my M started so I could rake some windrows up. As it turned out the M didn't want to play ball. So I got creative and hooked the hay rake to my pickup. I did wind up making a bale and dumped it out for my cattle so mission accomplished.

We used to hook a five wheel rake to an old jeep. Much better ride than a tractor and we could rake at about 10 mph.

Well I found a bearing out on the pinch roller and was afraid it was going to be an expensive one. So last Monday I called Titan Machinery in Pella Ia and ordered the bearing. To my surprise it was under $30 so I had them send it over to the Avoca Ia store, where I work. I had great plans of getting the new bearing put in but the disc mower decided that it wanted my attention all weekend, have to mow it before you bale it of course. The other hold up is getting the front half of the PTO shaft from the seller. They are promising to drop it by my work, hope I don't regret placing trust in a mostly unknown person.

Default Big Bales

Can I assume this makes the big, 5 to 6 feet dia., bales?

The last time I bailed hay, 1950's, all the bales, square or round, were able to be man handled. (Or boy handled in my case.)
The round ones were about 24 inch dia. x 48 inch long.

Yeah, it has been a while since I was in a hay field.
