Default free mill

Nephew called from Ga. the other day and said he had an old milling machine and asked if I wanted it. Well, yeah. It was in a small shop when he bought the property a few years ago. He's selling the property an it has to go soon, like now. I made the 400 mi. round trip in a day and brought it home, you know just to help him. It hasn't been run in several years and really needs some tlc. All the motors work except the coolant pump, power feed works on all three axis. It has vertical and horizontal spindles and came with a rotary phase converter. It's an old one but hell, it works. Lot of cleaning to do and I need to fix the vertical head motor bracket. I've never used a mill but I can learn.

So that is a combination vertical and horizontal mill. Free, except for travel to get it. I heard a swoosh sound earlier. It was a You Suck for sure. Nice score. I would have went for it too.

"Store". It's more like a "Sinkhole". That green stuff just disappears. Tooling is a never ending acquisition. :-)

Nice, appears to be in pretty good shape.

Oil it up and check the backlash.

So that's what caused all the strong southerly winds we've been getting.
Suckage for sure.

That looks like it will buff right up and be a nice versatile mill.
