Default I've used wire drills, but.........

I've used wire sized drills before and thought I'd used some pretty thin tools to get some mighty small openings.

But...........

Just thought some of you might enjoy the skills involved.

Wink "Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!"

Very interesting. I could do without the over-exuberance of the announcer... "OH NO! WILL THERE BE BUBBLE TROUBLE!?!" "LOOK AT HIM GO!" The link for part 2 is just before the comments, btw...

Yeah, I gave up after about 50 seconds--I can't stand that kind of phony enthusiasm...

Unlike watching shows on the tele, I was able to mouse over and past the bull shit.

It was nice to see the lathe wire drilling pencil lead though. I can also appreciate the way his hands shook, age has done that to me though.

We, the older end of the membership, would bitch about having to carry the "free" gold bars from the truck to the house.

I've seen micro work on lathe and milling machines, machines not necessarily suited for such work but able to hold a gnats ass tolerance etc.

I particularly enjoyed the machinists honesty in acknowledging the 'dream' that gave him information for how to better grip the graphite rod.

It seems this happens to me at times when trying to come up with a fix to something I've not encountered before. While in fact it's probably something I've seen and forgotten about over the last 50 years or so.

Cool video and a very skilled operator to do that with a lathe. I actually ended up on this video on youtube the other day after watching an Ave or This Old Tony video..

I think the announcer talking like that is part of Japanese culture and it doesn't translate too well. Reminds me of the Iron Chef show that was popular on television 15 years ago.
